Glass Fusing is so HOT it's COOL!
What is Glass Fusing?
It is the process of heating stacked pieces of compatible glass to very high temperatures in a kiln until they melt or fuse together to create a piece of glass art. You, as the glass artist create a design by arranging and stacking pieces of vividly colored glass on a glass canvas that we call a blank. The kiln fired design is your fused glass art masterpiece!
What kind of fused glass art can I create?
Glass tiles, plates, ornaments, sun catchers, bowls, charms, night lights, votive cups & more!
Is there an age requirement to work with glass?
Yes, due to obvious safety concerns we require a minimum age of 7 for pre-cut kits and ages 12 & over for projects requiring scoring & breaking glass.
How does it work?
- Select a glass project - we have a Project Idea Book to inspire you or you can choose from one of our many pre-cut glass Kits.
- Choose your colors - we have over 20 colors of glass.
- Give us about 15 minutes of your listening ear as we go over glass cutting, fusing and glass safety basics.
- Cut and/or arrange your design.
- Your glass project is now ready for fusing in our kiln.
What does it cost?
Glass projects range from $10 - $40. The price of the project you select includes: Base glass blank & up to 3 layers of design glass, use of tools, design materials, fusing and staff assistance. Slumping and specialty glass are extra.
What is "slumping"?
Slumping is shaping a fused glass piece by bending it over or into a mold. Slumping fee is an additional $6 per project.
When will my project be ready for pick-up?
Your glass masterpiece will be ready to pick up in 3 - 8 days.
